In 2011 I felt that our camper van was lacking a good sun shade. I'd tried a couple of drive away awnings but, although they provide protection against the weather, I thought they closed us off from the great outdoors so decided on purchasing a sun/rain canopy instead. But sadly, the choice was very limited and dull. So, after sourcing the high quality products and services, I decided to make my own.
The summers of 2011/12 gave my family plenty of camping experiences (come rain or shine!), and wherever we pitched our van with its beautiful sun awning other campervanners were asking us where they could purchase one from. So, after much thought and some design improvements, I can now offer you a great selection to choose from, (and if you have your own favourite fabric that you'd like made into a canopy, let us know and if it's suitable, we'll make it).
I believe our beautiful range of sun canopies offer the most inspiring choice of colour and design available, and each comes complete with poles, guy ropes and a canvas bag to stuff it all in when not in use.
Each canopy is made with a water resistant rip-stop fabric or acrylic canvas depending on colour and design and all are water, rot and UV resistant. They attach to the gutter of the van using a unique PVC profiled strip specifically designed and manufactured for our canopies, which attaches to the van for a snug, easy fit. However, if you prefer the traditional figure of eight rail, our canopies can be purchased with the piped tape (Luff tape) fitted as an alternative. They are finished with a white bullion trim but if you'd prefer it finished with a coloured pompom, just let us know.
Remember to check out our side panels, which complement our canopies as well protect you on a breezy day when you're cooking your sausages! They fit directly to either side of any one of our canopies and, for the 'Classic' canopy, come supplied with an additional adjustable pole.
It's all in the detail:
Each part of the canopy has been designed and manufactured with the best quality materials and workmanship to give you a product that is as tough as it is beautiful.
The fabrics are selected for their strength and resistance to weather. The seams in the vulnerable areas are double stitched, and the stress points are reinforced to ensure a long life. The fittings are specially chosen for their ability to perform well too; the poles are galvanized steel tubing with quick assemble spring joints and are adjustable for your required height. Nylon guy ropes are supplied with a non-slip tensioner and substantial pegs are supplied.
